About the material

What is limestone?

Limestone is a natural stone with a distinctive structure and pronounced surface, suitable for projects where an authentic and natural appearance is desired. Its texture creates varying shadows and visual depth, particularly when used across larger surfaces.

It is used for façades, fences, walls, courtyards, decorative surfaces and other architectural applications. Depending on the type and finish, limestone can complement both rustic and contemporary buildings.

Care and maintenance

  • Clean with neutral products – limestone is more acid-sensitive than granite.
  • On façades, let it patinate – it ages beautifully.
  • Sealing is recommended for horizontal exterior surfaces.

Common questions

Yes – façade cladding is its traditional use; we select batches with the right strength.

Polished is smooth and brings out the colour – it suits interiors, and polished stairs are used both indoors and outdoors. Rough is for outdoors – façades, stairs, terraces and walkways, where the surface must not be slippery.

With a soft patina that adds character. If you prefer a constant look, periodic sealing helps.
