About the material
What is travertine?
Travertine is a natural stone known for its distinctive porous structure and warm earthy tones. Its natural cavities and irregularities are an integral part of the material’s appearance, giving it a more pronounced texture than uniform stone surfaces.
It is commonly used for façades, terraces, floors, wall cladding, swimming pools and outdoor spaces. Depending on the finish, it can retain a more natural appearance or be transformed into a smoother and more refined surface.

Care and maintenance
- Clean surfaces with filled pores with neutral products; the pores are part of the stone's character.
- For exterior use we recommend sealing against moisture and staining.
- Avoid de-icing salts directly on the stone.
Common questions
Yes – with the right finish and sealing it is a classic façade and terrace stone.
Open pores are more natural; filled are easier to maintain. Both options can be ordered.
A rough finish gives good slip resistance – which is why travertine is a frequent pool-side choice.
